The Philadelphia FVMs live and serve as part of a full-time Franciscan community that runs the Saint Francis Inn, a place of ministry with people who are experiencing homelessness, addiction, or mental illness.  The main ministry is the soup kitchen feeding up to 400 people a day — not only in body, but also in spirit.   The soup kitchen is restaurant-style, so the guests come in and are seated and served. FVMs also have the opportunity to work in a clothing distribution center.
